Gateway Farm www.gatewayfarm.com was the breeder of Proctor and Gateway's Dottie (Dottie, AKC registration # NY00021811/CHIC#156958) pictured above and to the left. The dam was Southern Charm of Gateway Farm Dixie (AKC registration #NP38997108/CHIC# 128893.) The sire was Proctor's Sundial Nu Revolution Rocky (AKC registration # NY00003107/CHIC# 95677.) Dixie and Rocky both have been tested for hearing (BAER), dysplasia, hyperuriscosuria and thyroid.
Dottie turned 4 years old July 27, 2022, and this was her second litter of puppies. We are very conscientious regarding canine health and socialization, and we actually hold them, play with them and train them to the extent possible before they go to their forever homes. All puppies have been evaluated for hearing BAER (Brainstem Evoked Auditory Response) and hyperuriscosuria (DNA test LUA/HUA.) The results will be recorded at OFA.org http://www.ofa.org (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.) The purpose of the CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) designation from OFA is that genetically we are assured these dogs are free of certain breed prevelant issues. In other words, we want our puppies to be as healthy and problem free as possible. Additionally, we realize it is important that the home a puppy is placed in is committed to the care of the dog and understand what to expect. As a reputable Dalmatian breeder we request an application so we can be informed about the puppy's prospective new family and can make a determination if a puppy would be suited for the prospective new family's circumstances. The questionnaire can be found in the downloads section (found at the bottom of the AKC Registration tab.)
Dottie's father was Proctor's Sundial Nu Revolution Rocky (AKC registration # NY00003107/CHIC# 95677 http://www.proctordalmatians.net/ProctorDogs.html. A photo of Rocky is in the photo gallery below. Rocky is descended from Proctor’s Dappled Hi-Flyer (NT487885) who through 2019 is the 13th highest all time top show Dalmatian https://dalmatianclubofamerica.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/2019AllTimeTopShowDals.pdf according to the Dalmatian Club of America. The dam was Southern Charm of Gateway Farm Dixie (AKC registration #NP38997108/CHIC# 128893.) That's Dixie to the right and you can find more information at http://www.gatewayfarm.com/the-girls.html . Both of these dogs have their CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) certifications and the results of their health tests can be found on the OFA website, www.ofa.org (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.) All results of tests found on the OFA website are copyrighted, but feel free to search the registration number and you can view the results of their tests for yourself. Dottie's CHIC number is 156958.
Per the Dalmatian Club of America, "The "Dal," as he is know world wide, is an intelligent and affectionate breed, which means constant companionship, love and attention - often expressed by following you from room to room." The breed is very clean and although they shed, you can minimize the shedding by brushing. Dalmatians are very soft and you will not smell doggy after you pet them. Baths are encouraged but not too often as it dries out their skin. Also, if your dog is HUA you should use a low purine (around 20% or less) kibble and to make sure the dog has plenty of clean water. Dottie drinks around 3 quarts of water a day and urinates frequently. She has not had any problem with stones, but I am always checking and making sure she has plenty of water. Dottie is all of the things described in the first sentence, and then some. She is an amazing athlete and very fast runner. Also, her hearing is extremely acute. She could hear a pin drop a mile away (note: this may be an exaggeration.)

Our babies are adopted quickly, so reach out to reserve yours or to ask any questions. I'm happy to announce that all puppies have gone to their forever homes except Orange, Gray and Violet boys. These three are very sweet natured and will make the perfect addition to your family.
