Canine Health

Puppies are bread to standards of AKC https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/dalmatian/  the goal being to enhance the breed.  As a reputable breeder canine health testing on puppies gives you assurance the puppy is going to be free of health issues.  Dottie's AKC registration # is NY00021811;  Drake's (the current litter's sire River Valley Farms Drake) registration number is NP62938504 and both can be found on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals website www.OFA.org .   Dottie's CHIC # is 156958 and Drake's is in process as he just turned two November 15, 2022.  

Puppies are sold with the potential to compete in shows and other events.   River Valley Farms Drake is owned by Kayla Shepard;  Owner of River Valley Farms along with her husband.  Drake is HUA and Dottie HUA.  As the spots are just appearing, it's difficult to tell how they'll turn out.  All are currently very fat and staying mostly asleep totally milk drunk.

From the previous litter, Proctor N Esquire's Brave NU World, Huxley, is owned by Eva and Ken Berg (Proctor Dalmatians) and Barbara Greenspan.  He is a proven sire and has produced beautiful puppies.  "His strong boning, beautiful proportions and dramatic angles make him an excellent example of the breed," state Eva and ken Berg on their website http://www.proctordalmatians.net/Index.html .  He was a very good match for Dottie and their puppies went to their forever homes and have just turned two.  I will attempt to update this site with their current photos in the very near future.

Dottie's and Drake's puppies (that's Drake to the left) are guaranteed to be healthy, free of diseases, and current on immunizations. At 6 to 7 weeks their puppies will be BAER (Brainstem Evoked Auditory Response) hearing tested.  Their new family will be provided with their hearing test results.  The HUA Dalmatian does have a genetic predisposition to develop bladder stones in, and hyperuricosuria tests will be done as well to determine the puppies LUA/HUA (high or low uric acid) status.  Dottie is HUA, and Drake  is LUA. The results of these test will be recorded with OFA.  All puppies will be AKC registered (preregistered) and microchipped (indiminchip AKC prepaid lifetime.)  You will be provided with a limited registration and they will have "spay and neuter agreements" in their contract.  As a note, according to the Dalmatian Club of America it is best not to neuter until they reach full maturity due to their growth plate development,   Additionally, other restrictions will apply to HUA puppies, specifically your veterinarian must be trained to perform electrohydraulic lithotripsy on canines and not put down dogs with stones.
