I am taking deposits for the next litter, which I anticipate will be born in February of 2024. I will not breed her unless I have deposits on at least 10 puppies.
I have experienced a rather sharp increase in the costs to breed Dottie's puppies, but I have thus far maintained my price from 2021 of $2,500. I will endeavor to keep the price the same going forward. Similar puppies I have found are in the range of $3,700 to $5,000, but I feel that even at $2,500 it's a stretch for some families given the current inflationary bite on finances. At this point I do this as a labor of love and should be qualified for a non-profit as I am operating at a loss.
Absolutely not. Dalmations are super intelligent, loyal and affectionate. They have a high level of energy, especially for the first 3 years. You are talking about an animal that can run all day long. They are incredibly athletic and need to exercise. It's 5 miles a day for Dottie. It helps to keep the waistline down, and I highly recommend long walks in the Forest.
My cat and Dottie love each other. Dottie has a very easygoing temperament. Health and Temperament are all considered before selecting a dog to breed. Dottie is a sweetie, maybe the sweetest dog I have ever owned. And she passed all her health tests with flying colors. Dottie let her cat (Meowmeow) play with the puppies which amazed me. Dalmatians are fantastic with children and they tend to wear each other out playing.
